Annual Report Design for ARCH in Lincolnshire
The Harvest Media team had the pleasure of working again with ARCH Consultants in Lincolnshire, IL to design and print their Annual Report.
ARCH is an owner's representative consultancy; their firm guides companies who are expanding, remodeling, or building new facilities through every phase of the construction process.
The Year in Review book design highlights the milestones and achievements of the last year, and their new branding.
Large-scale construction projects are very complex, and they have many moving parts. ARCH keeps track of them all—making sure that the right pieces are in all the right place at the right time (no small feat!). Their clients have seen huge benefits and much more efficient projects as a result of engaging their firm.
Just like a construction project, this book design had many moving parts.
One of the constraints that makes this graphic design project interesting (and fun!) is the fact that large-scale construction projects span many months or even years. As such, the design assets available for a given year are quite varied, ranging from blueprints, to 3D architectural comps, to groundbreaking pictures, to finished photos, and everything in between.
Our design process involved:
- Selecting from the available design assets
- Retouching photos of the construction sites
- Laying out the elements on the page
- Highlighting impressive statistics and testimonials
We also took care to create a piece that fit the look and feel of their brand.
Each year, one of the highlights of our design process is the opportunity to get creative with the refresh of their infographic for the opening pages. We work to highlight milestones in a whimsical way, such as using the path of the airplane icon to travel through each of their achievements and land the reader's eye right at the president's message on the next page.
Some of the photos, like the one above, provide unique opportunities to take advantage of architectural details and shapes of buildings to create depth and break out of the grid layout.
The result is a clean, modern, annual report that they can proud of.
