The Harvest Media team was thrilled to work with the staff at Glow Publications on the branding and launch of their new product, the Embark series. Designed especially for teens who want to know more about the Bible, Embark guides them on a journey through a single book (section) and provides them with study questions to reinforce what they are learning.
Our role was to design a logo for the Embark series, create a journey map illustration, and design a book cover template to build upon as they add more books to the series.
We began our design process by researching the brand and exploring logo concepts. We evaluated several ideas with the client, and selected the final version together.
The lowercase "e" also doubles as a compass to reinforce the concept of the journey. The type is bold and adventurous—set at an angle to give it a sense of forward motion.

Logos must be simple and flexible enough to be used at both large and small sizes across a wide variety of media. Read more about the elements of a successful logo.
The next piece of the design was the journey map that introduces the study method used throughout each book. We gave it a few twists and turns and created icons for each destination.
The book cover template uses one key photo and a stamp to communicate the theme for each book.
Lastly we created a series of social media graphics to promote their new brand.
The end result is a versatile brand system that is easy for them to build upon and extend as the Embark series grows.
